Climb every mountain, Ford every stream, Follow every rainbow, 'Till you find your dream! I feel like I’m in Austria and could see Julie Andrews any minute, although I’m only about an hour away from downtown Los Angeles. This is one of my favorite escapes from where we we live, and Sound of Music is one of my very favorite movies. Oftentimes with I’m climbing a mountain I will sing this to myself, “Climb every mountain Ford every stream Follow every rainbow 'Till you find your dream!” I guess the words stuck with me because I feel like this is how I’ve lived my life. A dream chaser. Breaking the mold from what I thought I was supposed to do, or what others were doing to go after my dream and God giving calling. I haven’t gone the typical path in life at all, but I’m grateful for Proverbs 3:5-6 my favorite verse. Asking God to lead my path. And He’s lead me to some pretty amazing things, although the climb is difficult, I’m grateful. Where I live, who I married, the career I have- all so much different/better than I could have ever imagined. I guess I relate to Julie Andrew’s character in that way too. She thought God’s plan for her life was to be a nun. But God knew her heart, and what would bring out her fullest life as she empowered others to live their best life. I used to be scared to trust God with the plans for my life because I thought it would be boring and dull. But that couldn’t be further from the truth. He has our best life, the way we can be the biggest blessing and so filled with purpose: mapped out for us. Even when it doesn’t make any sense (and I’ve been in that place many times). But He has a way of putting pieces together, the pain/differences in us that seemed so pointless He suddenly seems to make sense of. And it’s never to late to start trusting and climbing the mountain with Him.
