I read their mean comments yesterday 😭and I’d be lying if I said it didn’t make me questions my worth. The mean comments didn’t come from this amazing community on Instagram. I’ve been posting almost everyday for over 2 years on this app, and I’ve only gotten a handful of hateful comments. You instead share the most beautiful stories, love, ❤️gratitude and encouragement. After reflection, the comments I read yesterday me made me even more grateful for each of you. “Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.”-Ephesians 4:29 -Thanks for doing this!! One girl called me “retarded”, some others made fun of the way I pronounce words, others made a reference to me being ditzy/stupid. My first instinct was wanting to hide, 🤦🏽♀️questioning myself, defend myself “I have my Masters degree, created my own successful company, I created a course with over 40 video modules, a therapist, a teacher, got almost all A’s throughout all my years of school." But those things don’t define me or prove me to be worthy either. I know I’m not perfect, I have braces and can talk funny at times. I have dyslexia and misspell words. But those things don’t make me stupid, I’m a firm believer that God made each person unique and special and with their own genius. So I want to remind you as I remind myself: it’s ok that you don’t look like, sound like, or act like someone else. How God created you is so special. And I’m so sorry for those who've been made to feel less than, not good enough, unlovable. I’m here to remind you that you are SO VERY LOVED❤️, precious, adored. And I wanted to thank you for being so kind. For being a light, an encourager.
Every kind comment/message doesn’t go unnoticed, it has made an impact in my life, it has reminded me to keep sharing my heart. Thanks for focusing on the good things instead of my mistakes. You’re beautifully and wonderfully made dear friend, your voice matters and when it’s used to build others up, you can be apart of changing the world for the good! Do you believe this? As always I LOVE hearing from you!
