Do you ever get discouraged with yourself? It's easy for me to get down on myself for things I lack, the way I look, and how I act and I can get very discouraged at times. These palms are a reminder to look up to the light and not focus so much on my shortcomings. There was a big wind storm several years ago soon after I moved to California. I was very surprised to see so many trees that had fallen down and none of them that I saw were palm trees. Some of their branches had fallen but the trees remained. As we go through the trials of life I want to look towards Jesus and know that He keeps me strong. We are all created unique and God allows us to grow. I'm very flawed and thankful it's not about me but it's about Him-these palm trees are a reminder to look up and keep reaching towards the Sun/Son.
