NFL Power Rankings - Week 9

NFL Power Rankings - Week 9

  1. New England Patriots (7-1) – The Patriots are the clear number one team after yet another solid performance against good competition. These Patriots just might take it all.

  2. Dallas Cowboys (6-1) – Another impressive win this past week against NFC East rivals in the Eagles. Prescott is looking more and more like the real deal. Things are going well in Dallas, up next, the winless Browns.

  3. Denver Broncos (6-2) – The Broncos got a much needed win over AFC West rivals the Chargers to improve to 6-2. The Broncos are rolling again.

  4. Kansas City Chiefs (5-2) – The Chiefs have looked very impressive since their bye week putting together back to back strong wins. We will see how they do this week with Nick Foles at quarterback as Alex Smith is inactive.

  5. Atlanta Falcons (5-3) – The Falcons got a strong win over the Packers at home this week, showing that their midseason form has not left them. This team might be able to do some things.

  6. Oakland Raiders (6-2) – The Raiders have looked impressive this season in route to a 6-2 record. Derek Carr is the early season MVP leader posting video game numbers. Who cares if their defense stinks, who cares if they had over 20 penalties last game? All that matters is another number in the win column.

  7. Seattle Seahawks (4-2-1) – The Seahawks lost to the Saints in New Orleans last week, severely hurting their ranking and standing in the NFC West. This team is not the same as previous dominating years.

  8. Minnesota Vikings (5-2) – The Vikings looked poor again this week on Monday Night Football, losing to a Cutler led team. It’s not time to panic just yet for the Vikings, as they have a solid team, but they need some HELP on the offensive line.

  9. Green Bay Packers (4-3) – Another loss this week is compounding the grief for this Packers team that just can’t find any consistency on offense and the defense is not as good as people say they are. This Packers team might miss out on the playoffs.

  10. Arizona Cardinals (3-4-1) – The Cardinals had a repeat of the NFC Championship game again this week as they lost to the Panthers in embarrassing fashion. Turnovers, sacks, lack of offense were the Achilles heel of the Cardinals again the Panthers. Lucky for them, the Seahawks also lost this week. There just might still be some hope.

  11. Philadelphia Eagles (4-3) – The Eagles looked to be victorious against the Cowboys this week until they lost a 10 point lead. Eagles showed they are not ready to bow out of the NFC East race.

  12. Pittsburgh Steelers (4-3) – Coming off of the bye this week, the Steelers look to bounce back this week against divisional foe the Ravens. Roethlisberger is saying that he is coming back this week earlier than expected. This might be the turnaround point for this talented Steelers team.

  13. Houston Texans (5-3) – The Texans are undefeated at home, and played well in route to a win against the Lions this week. The Texans have showed that they can beat the league’s mediocre teams, but they have yet to show that they can take hang with the league’s elite teams.

  14. Cincinnati Bengals (3-4-1) – A tie in London was a missed opportunity for the Bengals as they did everything to win, and everything to lose in that game abroad. This was a game they should have come away victorious, such has been the story of the Bengals this season.

  15. Washington Redskins (4-3-1) – The Redskins came to a stand-still with the Bengals this week in London. Kirk Cousins had over 400 yards passing. He is looking more and more like his old self, but the defensive issues, and turnover problems still exist for this talented Redskins team.

  16. New York Giants (4-3) – The Giants come off a bye week this week and look to close the gap between Cowboys and themselves.

  17. Buffalo Bills (4-4) – The Bills got dominated this week by the Patriots in Buffalo, the Bills really need to figure this roll coaster season out. They have been very inconsistent and are on the brink of playoff elimination.

  18. Detroit Lions (4-4) – The Lions lost away this week at the Texans. The story for many teams this season is consistency, Matthew Stafford has been hot and cold, they just need the defensive support to keep him rolling when he’s hot.

  19. New Orleans Saints (3-4) – The Saints got a great win this week at home against the Seahawks. Maybe this Saints team can do some things this season if they can rattle off a few wins and get into playoff contention. They showed this week that they can compete with the best in the league.

  20. San Diego Chargers (3-5) – The Chargers lost a key divisional matchup against the Broncos this week. They need to get back over .500 because this division is the best it has been in years.

  21. Tennessee Titans (4-4) – The Titans got back on track this week with a solid win over the Jaguars on Thursday night. This Titans team looks to compete in that AFC South division. That running attack is scary!

  22. Los Angeles Rams (3-4) – Coming off of a bye this week, the Rams look to get things straight against the Panthers who have been struggling this season as well. The Rams have the talent defensively to compete, they just need some help on the offensive side of the ball.

  23. Baltimore Ravens (3-4) – 3-0 right? What Happened? They played some actual competition is what happened. This Ravens team is bad and they have a tough matchup with the Steelers this week after their bye.

  24. Carolina Panthers (2-5) – The Panthers bounced back strong after the bye with a statement win over the Cardinals. This might be the turnaround point for the Panthers this season as they try to get back to last year’s form after a horrible start.

  25. Indianapolis Colts (3-5) – The Colts could not catch up with that talented Chiefs team even without Alex Smith. The Colts can compete with anyone because of that Luck-led offense, but the struggles on defense continue to be an issue for this team.

  26. Miami Dolphins (3-4) – The Dolphins are coming off of a bye after a little hot streak were they had put together two solid performances behind Jay Ajayi and his two 200+ yard games back to back. This Dolphins team might just be figuring this thing out.

  27. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-4) – The Bucs are in rebuild mode and continue to struggle. Any talk of contender status is now over and this team is just looking to be relevant in their division again.

  28. New York Jets (3-5) – The Jets got a win, that doesn’t change much, they still are bad, and we hope that they can salvage this season. But a three point victory over the winless Browns doesn’t change much.

  29. Chicago Bears (2-6) – The Bears looked good with Cutler back in the lineup, he got Jefferies involved again and they were able to beat a good Vikings team at home. Let’s see if they can fight back from this horrible start.

  30. Jacksonville Jaguars (2-5) – The Jaguars are not the team they were a year ago. The offense is not the same, and they keep getting themselves out of games too fast. Too much dependency on Bortles to pass is leading to costly turnovers and defeat. Too much talent on both sides of the ball not to win more games.

  31. San Francisco 49ers (1-6) –I will stay with the same headlines for this team: CHIP KELLY NEEDS TO BE GONE. I can’t say it enough, his experiment has not worked and the NFL needs to move on. Why are we so quick to forgive Kelly and so fast to banish Tebow?

  32. Cleveland Browns (0-8) – The Browns are the best 0-8 team I have ever seen. The Browns have had a chance in each game they have played this season, and sooner or later they are going to win one. So who is the first victim?
